The TWIN COACH Bus Manuals PDF above the page.
Of the American bus manufacturers of the early 20th century, the most famous was the Twin Coach brand, which had been producing its vehicles since 1927.
The owners of the company, located in Kent, Ohio, were the Fageol brothers (Frank and William), who recently abandoned a similar production of
vans and buses under the Fageol brand. The brand had been forgotten, and Twin Coach gained popularity.
Despite the fact that the company founded shortly before the Great Depression, the brothers hit the nail on the head with their production direction – unlike cars, which were expensive for the
average American, buses were public transportation, and travel on them was cheaper.
Therefore, Twin Coach not only received orders but was also able to finance the development of new models.
In 1927, a bus model called the Twin Coach 40 was designed for city roads and built on the principles of a train car.
Since 1935, Twin Coach began producing buses with a unique diesel-electric transmission and trolleybuses, which allowed the company to consistently receive government orders for
public transport. In 1938, the articulated bus model 58-GDE was introduced.
Almost 15, 000 buses were produced during this period.
In the 1950s, the Fageol brand was acquired by Flxible and revived as the name of a line of vans produced on Twin Coach assembly lines.
