The company began its history in 1958. Originally it bore the ingenious name Liaocheng Vehicle Manufacturing and Repair Factory.
By 1971, buses became the company's main products. Originally these were only road models, but gradually the range expanded, tourist, city, and regular buses appeared.
The result of this specialization was the change of name to Liaocheng Bus Factory.
In 1994, the first serious restructuring of the company took place, as a result of which it changed its name to Shandong Bus Co., Ltd.
